efa, the electronic Logbook for Rowing and Canoeing, is a software to keep track of rowing boat and canoe sessions and provides various statistic functions to evaluate the recorded data. Sessions can either be entered into a computer directly in the boat house by any club member, thus replacing any ordinary paper logbooks, or alternatively afterwards be inserted into efa by an administrator. For use in a boat house, efa provides many additional features as boat reservations, assignment of boat usage permissions, reporting and administration of boat damages and many more.

In the eleven years of its existence, efa has become the de facto standard in rowing clubs throughout Germany, and is currently being used by more than 300 rowing and canoeing clubs in ten different countries. Version 2 has been re-designed and developed from scratch and brings numerous new features, most importantly an improved administration interface, remote access capabilities over a network or the internet, and translation into various languages.
